Women’s Football: The Championship 2021/2022 Season Kicks Off 13 June In Ijebu Ode

The second tier league of the Nigeria Women Football League, The Championship 2021/2022 season, will kick off at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, from Monday, June 13, to June 19, 2022.

The official Pre-Match Meeting for the 2021/2022 Championship League season has been scheduled to hold on Sunday, June 12 at the Conference Hall of the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, at 4pm.

The NWFL Championship League will be competed for by a total of 10 clubs from across the country, divided into two groups, A and B.

The Group A teams are: Ibom Angels of Uyo, Royaltoms International FC of Lagos, Dream Stars Ladies of Lagos and Oasis FC also of Lagos.

While Group B has Crystal Stars FC of Bayelsa, Heartland Queens FC of Owerri, Kwara Ladies FC of Ilorin, Beautiful Tours Angels FC of Abuja, Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos and Moje Queens FC of Kwara.

The first game of the season, but incidentally Match number 3 because of the kick-off time, will be played in Group B between Crystars FC versus Beautiful Tours Angels FC by 10am at the Training Pitch of the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.

While the first game in Group A at the Main Bowl of the Dipo Dina International Stadium would see two former NWFL Premiership clubs: Ibom Angels FC and Dream Stars Ladies FC battle themselves at 2pm.

The second game in Group B, Match Number 4, will also be played simultaneously at 2pm at the Training Pitch of the Dipo Dina International Stadium, between Heartland Queens FC and Dannaz Ladies FC.

While Match Number 2 in Group A would see Royaltoms FC versus Oasis FC at the Mainbowl of the stadium at 4pm.

Match number 5 on the Opening Day would see Kwara Ladies FC take on Moje Queens in a Kwara state local derby, at the Training Pitch of the Dipo Dina International Stadium, at 4pm.

A total of 25 matches will be played in the NWFL Championship League from Monday, June 13 to June 19, 2022, while two Rest Days will be observed on June 15 and June 18.

Group A will see two matches played every day at 2pm and 4pm, while Group B would see three matches per day at 10am, 2pm and 4pm, all at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.

At the end of the league in the two groups on June 19, the two teams with the highest points each in Group A and B will be promoted to the NWFL Premiership League. This interprets that only two teams, one each from Group A and B will be promoted to the elite Premiership league.
